The brief
Tamara wanted to give her two growing girls the bathroom they would always remember while also needing a design that would increase the future resale value of her home. Keeping these goals in mind, Made's design team discovered the family's love for the beaches of California and their laid back vibe in order to create a space that could tastefully capture the spirit of their family in their happy place.
The approach
Made brought their family's California beachy vibe inside by selecting specific materials and a coastal color palette to create a casual and collected new space. The design team chose a tile with a handmade look and natural imperfections to mimic ocean tones and give their daughters the calming feeling of being waterside. A geometric floor tile pattern and color-blocked ceiling tile add visual interest to define specific areas in the bathroom. We then used the wood vanity and shelves to bring in some warmth.
The result
Tamara and her daughters can now step into the warmth and feelings of a beach day any time of the year in this relaxing destination found in the comfort of their home. While this new bathroom feels more like home for their family, its casual and inviting style is equally sophisticated enough for future owners to want to create their own memories.
